The Seneca Valley Varsity Hockey Team continues to hold on to second place in PIHL Hockey's Section 2.
The Raiders are 9-3-1 behind the outstanding goaltending of Tanner Pfeffer. The offense continues to put pucks in the net. They are led in points by Ethan Kipin, Luke Reed, Chris Marziotto and Brendan MacFarlane.
SV looks to put another one in the win column tonight, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m. against the Central Catholic Vikings.
The Vikings currently lead Section 4 with a record of 8-5-1. Tuesday's game will be played at Bladerunners in Warrendale.
The Raiders will continue their quest for the cup at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 29 against Peter's Township. This game also will be played at Bladerunners in Warrendale.
This team is fun to watch with a lot of talented hockey players, so come out and cheer on the Raiders as they make a run for the Penguins Cup!

SENECA VALLEY VS NORTH ALLEGHENY -- TUESDAY NIGHT @ 8:30 PM (Bladerunners - Warrendale)
Seneca Valley could come within 1 point of the North Allegheny Tigers, the Section 2 leaders, with a win tonight. The Raiders are coming off a 4-0 shutout victory over Mt Lebanon on Friday and the Tigers were stunned on Monday night by Shaler where they suffered a 2-1 loss. Seneca will be looking for revenge from the last meeting between these teams when NA took a 2-1 victory in overtime. Chris Marziotto participated in the All-Star Game on Sunday where he netted a hat-trick and is hoping to bring that scoring touch into tonight's game. This should be a hard-fought, fun-to-watch game, so if you can come out and support the team, you will be in for some great hockey! Admission is only $3 for adults and $2 for students (10-under are free). Come out tonight and cheer on Seneca's boys of winter!

SV CONTINUES IT'S QUEST FOR A FIRST ROUND PLAYOFF BYE
Even though the NA Tigers were able to hold off a third period onslaught, Seneca Valley is still in control of their own destiny when it comes to securing a first round playoff bye. Before last night, they had to win 3 out of their last 4 games, but since they fell to the Tigers 4-3, they now need to win their last 3 games. This quest starts TONIGHT when they battle Upper St. Clair at 9PM in Castle Shannon (Ice Castle). Tonight's game will feature SV's previous head coach, Dennis Kirstein, who is now the head coach of USC. The last meeting between these two teams had the ice tilting in favor of the Raiders who came away with a 7-3 victory. However, both teams have something to play for, so SV is not expecting this game to be an easy win. The remaining two games of the regular season will take place on February 19th @ 6;30 PM vs Shaler (Bladerunners, Warrendale) - Senior Night and then on February 25th @ 7:10 PM vs Mt. Lebanon (Mt. Lebanon Ice Rink).
