Glass Globe Lighting

I’ve recently been contracted to design a small restaurant with a Japanese theme.  The space is tiny, which works well for the restaurant style and with the design components I’ve chosen.

There will be a large communal table and only nine small tables seating a maximum of four. The chairs and tables are a darker wood stain, the floor is slate-type tile, the ceiling is tin, and the lighting is clear globe pendants.

The clear glass pendant lighting allows for an unobstructed view in this very small space. A cluster of five pendants will hang above the large table as a chandelier.  The lighting within is a filament bulb, which emanates a warm, vivid glow reminiscent of early 20th century lighting.

I’ve also used these handblown glass pendants in kitchens for a defined art piece, as well as for function.  I’ve installed them over two night tables in a teenage girl’s room in consideration for space, maintenance and for that retro vibe that is on trend.
