Whiz Kids: Seneca Valley Honors Teen Firefighters
These high schoolers are doing their homework while learning how to fight fires.
On Monday, Seneca Valley officials recognized volunteer firefighters—who also happen to still be in high school.
The following volunteers were honored Monday at the Seneca Valley School Board meeting. Superintendent Dr. Tracy Vitale also presented each firefighter with a certificate of recognition.
Evans City Area Fire Department
- Danielle Green: 11th grade (junior firefighter)
- Richard Wilbert: 11th grade (junior firefighter)
Harmony Volunteer Fire Company
- Rachel Beck: 11th grade (junior firefighter)
- Brandon Andrews: 12th grade (senior firefighter)
- Nicholas Donatelli: 12th grade (senior firefighter)
Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company
- Daniel Hayden: 10th grade (junior firefighter)
- Andrew Schultz: 10th grade (junior firefighter)
- Brandon Nischalke: 11th grade (junior firefighter)
- Andrew Parrotto: 11th grade (senior firefighter)

I had the privilege of meeting these kids last night, and I could tell by the brightness in their eyes and the excitement on their faces that they're destined for great things! Recognizing the accomplishments of our kids is the BEST part of being a school director!
