The Freedom Square shopping center in Cranberry is home to the Freedom Square Diner, Shop ‘n Save, Crazy Mocha and more—but there still is some retail space available in the plaza.

Langholz Wilson Ellis commercial real estate services in Pittsburgh has up to 5,000 square feet available to lease in the Freedom Road development.

A business to occupy the space might or might not be around the corner. In the meantime, we’d like to know what you’d like to see fill the vacant spot.

Is there something that would benefit the Cranberry area community? How could this space better serve you and your neighbors?

Share your thoughts, ideas and concerns in the comments. Tell us what your vision is for this Cranberry Township vacancy.

I would love to move an office there. Its bigger then what we are looking to expand to. Nice place for anything convenient. A dollar store is always nice. EmergencyDenture Repair(724)625-5454

Bath & Body shop...what I suggest for all your vacant shop's queries. Guess they don't want Crby's business though

Piada, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, something new to the area that Pittsburgh doesn't already have.

A Bridal Shop, the problem with area is the rent is very high to open a business. Landlords charge $25 to $30 a sq ft. they not care about what it take to open a new start up, and then you have to get a permit to move in to the location before you even rent it, takes a lot of red tape to even open in cranberry. Once they approve the business then you can move forward with renting the place. Before you wanted to rent a place and your landlord approve of you moving in to the location, and rents were affordable. Now, the landlord make It seem that they would rather the bulidings to stay empty and take the tax write off every year, then drop the rent to have a great business come in. Something to think about ! If a small business wants to make it the first year and your rent is $5000 or more you can not even hire people to work, this is the reason the turn over on new businesses in the area are so high and then they close. Most business have a buffer to help in the first year, then things change when you work to just keep the doors open. Look around and see how many new space are open in the area and have never even been rented have been and it been over 2 years from the time they were bulit. Cranberry business rents are higher than Pittsburgh! WHY??? I have been in business for over 15 years, and know first hand that you really have to think about the little man. They can not compete with the box stores, internet, high rents. Just my thoughts in the matter.

Some of the ideas for this on the Cranberry Patch Facebook page are a bakery, a Taco Bell, an Auntie Ann's Pretzels and an Ulta. Thoughts?

I'm with you, Deb. I push for Bath & Body in every vacant location in Cranberry. I just don't get that they wouldn't want to come here - I'm tired of having to go to Ross Park Mall and Clearview Mall. I think they would be very profitable here in Cranberry.

No there wasn't a Bath & Body in the Streets of Cranberry - however, that really would be the ideal place for one. When Streets was in the works, a lot of us were hopeful it would be there.

I would love to see a bakery but the last one in Cranberry priced themselves right out of Cranberry. As for bath and body I like that idea but not sure that they would really get the business they need to stay afloat. A bridal place would be nice in Cranberry we have none around.

There is a bridal store in Zelie... I dont think there is enough commercial retail to support a bath and body works in that shopping center. they would do better in the cranberry mall or streets of cranberry

Food choices are made by the individual. What do you want a salad and water joint? Why not move to NYC so you can't buy any oversized sodas.
