A Butler County man on Friday pleaded guilty and was sentenced in federal court to two years probation after being convicted of bankruptcy fraud, according to United States Attorney David J. Hickton.

Chief United States District Judge Gary L. Lancaster imposed the sentence on Albert S. Yaksic, 66, of Leslie Road, Valencia.

According to the information presented to the court, Yaksic on Oct. 25, 2010 fraudulently concealed from the United States Trustee—in a bankruptcy case—proceeds he received from an oil and gas lease that totaled $32,268.00.

Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci prosecuted this case. The Office of the United States Trustee conducted the investigation.
