Traffic Alert: Delays Likely Near Zelienople Railroad Tracks
Construction is taking place on West New Castle Street.
Motorists in Zelienople may want to avoid the borough’s railroad tracks.
According to PennDOT, a lane restriction will be in place starting at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 on Route 288 (West New Castle Street) at Market Street to perform work on the railroad tracks and crossing.
Traffic will be restricted to a flagger-controlled single lane, PennDOT said. The restriction is expected to be in place until 5 pm. Traffic will flow in alternating directions while the work is being performed.
Congestion and delays are likely in the area, according to PennDOT. Drivers are urged to seek alternative routes.
PennDOT also reminds motorists to slow down, minimize distractions and to be alert in the work zone.
