It was game on at the Cranberry Township Board of Supervisors meeting Thursday as the Cranberry Lions Club recognized the student winners from its first Community Hoop Shoot Classic.

Sponsored by the Lions and the physical education teachers at Rowan Elementary School, the March 10 event at the Cranberry Municipal Center featured a foul-shot competition and a hot-shot contest for children in first through sixth grades.

Although admission to the event was free, donations were accepted for VIP Sports Camp, which provides sports and recreation opportunities for children and teenagers who are visually impaired or blind.

Grouped into categories by age and gender, the 20 winners from the hoop shoot were given commemorative T-shirts Thursday as well as certificates of achievement.

Below is a list of the winners:

First Place: Sydney Dabruzzo, Austin Michael, Patie Hohman, Nathan Prex, Gloria Michael, Mike Weaver, Payton Fisher, Josh Koltenberger, Madison Hans, Tyler Smith and Malik Talaat.

Second Place: Riley Sain, Tommy Drennen, Zayna Talaat, Alex Kramer, Zack LaValle, Lindsay Hans, Matt Altsman and Jacob LaValle.
