Chuck Favata, a former teacher and nationally-recognized presenter on cyber safety, will present two Internet safety programs for Seneca Valley parents this week.
A meeting for parents of students in kindergarten through sixth grade will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Haine Middle School cafeteria.
A meeting for parents at students in grades seven through 12will be held Thursday at the senior high school.
While simulating Internet activity, program participants will become aware of the far-reaching effects of cyber bullying as well as the tactics and tools online predators use to search and elicit information from prospective targets.
Parents also will learn about longterm implications and increasing problems linked to online postings.
The Verizon Foundation donated $8,000 grant to the district for the programs.
