SV Administrator Heading to Freedom Area School District

Dr. Jeffrey Fuller will take over as superintendent at the Beaver County school.

After nearly a decade with Seneca Valley, assistant superintendent Jeffrey Fuller is heading to Beaver County.

School board members on Monday accepted Fuller’s resignation from the district. The Cranberry resident will take over as superintendent at the Freedom Area School District, effective July 1. He replaces Dr. Ron Sofo, who was hired as CEO and principal at City Charter High School in Pittsburgh.

“My time here at Seneca Valley has been wonderful,” said Fuller, who served as assistant superintendent of instruction for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Fuller, who joined the district in 2003, spent three years as principal at Rowan Elementary School before becoming assistant superintendent in 2006. His last day with the district will be June 30.

Although he is moving on from Seneca Valley, Fuller said his family will remain Raiders.

Fuller said he has no plans to move from his home in Cranberry. His son and daughter will continue to attend school at Seneca Valley, he said.

"I’m very proud my children will remain in this district and have the opportunity to continue their education here,” he said. “It’s a move for me, but it’s not a move for my family.”

While he expressed excitement at starting his new position, Fuller added he was grateful for the time spent at Seneca Valley.

“It has been an incredible time of growth and achievement for the school district and I’m glad to have been a small part of that,” he said.

School board members accepted Fuller’s resignation with a round of applause to honor his service through the years with the district.

“We really appreciated having you on the Seneca Valley administrative team,” said school board member Jeanette Lahm.

A replacement for Fuller has not yet been named. District spokeswoman Linda Andreassi said candidates for the position may be discussed at Monday's school board meeting.

I think they should ask Dr. Fowler to come back and take this position she had to leave due to cuts in the budget she would be great at this job!

Dr. Fowler is a perfect fit in my opinion. She is an incredibly talented administrator and a wonderful person. The kids really respect her.
