Weather forecasters certainly got this one right.

Snow blanketed the area overnight, dumping about 6 inches of the white stuff in the Cranberry area. And that might be all residents see for the rest of the day.

Allthough the National Weather Service had issued a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Saturday, it was lifted around 9:30 a.m.

Cranberry Township’s parks and recreation department has canceled several morning programs due to snow. There will be no aerobics, 2 ½ tot dance or preschool dance today. The Pee Wee Dribblers Basketball League for those ages 6-8 also has been canceled, but the Youth Basketball Program for those ages 8-10 will continue to run as scheduled this afternoon.

The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company reported no major incidents caused by the snow. In preparation for the wintry weather, more than a dozen volunteers staffed both its stations overnight Friday.
