Seneca Valley to Take on Hempfield in First Round of WPIAL Playoffs

The Raiders will face off at home against the Spartans.

 

It’s official, the Seneca Valley Raiders will take on the Hempfield Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at NexTier Stadium.

The WPIAL released playoff pairings Monday evening. The top seeds went to North Allegheny (Class AAAA), Thomas Jefferson (Class AAA), Aliquippa (Class AA) and Clairton (Class A).

No. 4-seed Seneca Valley has a record of 8-1 for the season. The no. 13-seed Hempfield has a record of 4-5 overall.

The quarterfinals will be played Nov. 9. The semifinals will be Nov. 16. The WPIAL championship games are scheduled for Nov. 23 at Heinz Field.

Here’s how the rest of the WPIAL Class AAAA pairings shake out according to the MSA Sports Network:

  • No. 1 North Allegheny vs. no. 16 Altoona
  • No. 8 McKeesport vs. no. 9 Bethel Park
  • No. 5 Mt. Lebanon vs. no. 12 Butler
  • No. 2 Gateway vs. no. 15 Peters Township
  • No. 7 Woodland Hills vs. no. 10 North Hills
  • No. 3 Upper St. Clair vs. no. 14 Kiski Area
  • No. 6 Penn-Trafford vs. no. 11 Central Catholic
