Seneca Valley Issues Two-Hour Delay for Monday

A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into the morning.

Seneca Valley students will get a chance to sleep in Monday.

The district will operate on a two-hour delay because of inclement weather.

When Seneca Valley calls a two-hour delay, the kindergarten schedule is as follows:

  • CVE/Haine/Rowan/Evans City AM Kindergarten: Arrival - 10:40 a.m.; Dismissal - 12:35 p.m.
  • CVE/Haine/Rowan PM Kindergarten: PM Arrival - 1:20 p.m.; PM Dismissal - 3:15 p.m.
  • Evans City PM K Arrival is 1:15 p.m.; PM K Dismissal is 3:15 p.m.

Seneca Valley will continue to monitor the weather. Students and parents will be notified of any status updates.

St. Kilian School in Cranberry and St. Gregory School in Zelienople also have issued two-hour delays for Monday.

In addition, Cranberry’s Center for Early Education will run on a modified schedule.

Morning preschool will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Afternoon preschool will meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. All other programs will run as scheduled.

The Pittsburgh region is under a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.

A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into Monday morning. Because very cold ground and snow pack, roads and sidewalks are expected to be icy.

Snow accumulation of up to one inch is possible. Temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
