Rick Santorum Ends Presidential Campaign: What Do You Think?

Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum’s stop in Cranberry last week turned out be one of his last in his quest to earn the GOP’s presidential nomination.
Speaking in Gettysburg Tuesday afternoon, Santorum, who was raised in Butler, canceled his presidential campaign.
According to the Huffington Post, Santorum had taken a break from the campaign trail for several days to tend to his ailing daughter, Bella. He also faced a tough battle in his home state to win the Pennsylvania primary April 24 .
The move all but assures Mitt Romney will become the Republican presidential nominee. In his speech Tuesday, Santorum said his fight isn’t over, promising to help defeat President Barack Obama in 2012.
“There is a lot of greatness in our country,” he said. “We just need leaders who believe in that.”

Santorum is a favorite of super conservatives, but the general election is decided by independents. Romney has a much better chance of getting those voters. It all depends on what the economy does between now and November.

I liked certain thing about Santorum, but he never had a chance. With Romney and the GOP's record in congress this will be a laugher for Obama.

Polling must have shown that Santorum had no chance of winning the PA primary, so he pulled out to save face.

I think your wrong and Mr. Santorum would rather be a great father to his daughter while she is sick than one who doens't care like you seem to think.

Second time trying to get this answered. Being briefer, in case this doesn't work, either.
He did nothing for the steel industry, except maybe stand at the pier and wave goodbye to the jobs. The Congress despised "rednecks" and did nothing to protect steel jobs. Now all we hear from them is JOBS...JOBS...We have to create JOBS in America. Hey, guess what--we HAD jobs, till those dufuses let the industry go under.
Thing about steel people, they spent money big time. Home refurbishing, cars, ATVs, boats, whatever they could line up at the curb. Also, they paid taxes out the wazzoo. I know we did.
Now instead of supporting the economy, we are recipients of payouts by the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corp,, Health Care Tax Credit, and Earned Income Tax Credit, after a stint on Unemployment. Now all we hear is that there isn't enough money to pay for benefits that people paid for over 45 years of working.
Where are the high-paying (and high tax paying) jobs now? Guess you should have done something to save those jobs that supported this whole country on their shoulders.

I am a conservative. What we had was a bunch of men acting like boys. Rich Santorum was the chiquahua biting at the heals of his opponents, and then acting like the monkey at the zoo, throwing "stuff" at the crowd as he left!
