Seneca Valley will hold its 29th annual all-district track and field meet for those in kindergarten through sixth grade Friday, May 11 at the NextTier Stadium track at the district's secondary campus in Jackson Township.
Registration for the event will take place from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on the day of the meet. All field events start at 6 p.m. Track events begin at the conclusion of the field events.
The event is free to all district residents in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Participants are reminded to wear appropriate clothing for running, jumping and throwing. The field events will include softball throws and long jump.
Participants can choose to compete in the following track events:
- Kindergarten through second grade: 50 meter run, 400 meter run, 4 x 100 relays.
- Third and fourth grade: 80 meter run, 800 meter run, 4 x 100 relays.
- Fifth and sixth grade: 100 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 x 100 relays.
There also is a pre-K race (for parents and children) on the football field at the halfway point of meet.
Students from schools within the Seneca Valley boundaries also are welcome at the meet.
In case of inclement weather, the rain date is May 18.
