Categorizing Cranberry in the number 1 spot in the 15086 zip code for a wealth comparison is a stretch. There's not a single home owner in Cranberry Township- Butler County 15086. The zip code in Butler county includes a very narrow industrial stretch- about 1 mile square along Commonwealth Drive between Freedom road and the county line. Warrendale/Marshall owns the #1 spot by themselves. BUT you should also know that the 15086 zip code is TINY. It only contains 1 significant housing plan along Mt Pleasant Road (less than 40 homes)- of course this is a nice plan- so the limited numbers push the average higher. Compared to 16066 and 16046 that have thousands of residents. So, this story is a very inaccurate indicator of wealth- not comparing apples to apples. This is very typical of the Business Times Book of List type reporting- where in many "lists" he data is self reported or not statically comparable.

Pierre, this is indeed typical of the type of information that is available on the Internet regarding demographics and cost of living, in general. This type of data could have catastrophic consequences for an individual basing job offer salary negotiation conditions, etc.
Bottom line, despite the plethora of available data, rankings, and pseudo-studies, there is no substitute for "soak time" in an area, to obtain real knowledge.
