The Seneca Valley Raiders girls soccer team defeated the Hopewell Vikings, 2-0, in a non-section contest Saturday at Anthony Dorsett Stadium in Hopewell.

While the Raiders kept the ball on the Viking's side of the field for the majority of the first half, the Viking defense proved to be a challenge.

Senior midfielder Sarah Stevens' goal broke the ice for the Raiders 19:41 into the half. Ten minutes later, senior midfielder Natalie Richard got a goal. SV's freshman keeper Jess Neill deflected a Viking forward's bullet shot with a few minutes to go, but both teams returned to their benches with a 2-0 halftime score.

The second half was a roller-coaster battle that the defense dominated. Although Seneca Valley's offense peppered the Viking goalie with numerous shots in the second half, the score remained 2-0.
