For the most part, PennDOT is taking the Labor Day weekend off, which is good news for Cranberry area drivers headed toward downtown Pittsburgh.
The HOV lanes on the Parkway North are open to all outbound traffic this weekend after 7 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. In addition, the-two-passenger-per vehicle rule does not apply during weekend hours.
And unlike most summer weekend, there will be no restrictions for:
- The Squirrel Hill Tunnel
- Grant Street Tunnel of the Parkway East
- Banksville Road (after 6 a.m. Saturday)
- Crosstown Boulevard/Veterans Bridge. (The long-term closure of the ramp from Crosstown Boulevard to the Boulevard of the Allies will remain in place.)
