PennDOT Advisory

PennDOT warns there could more congestion and delays on Interstate 79 South in Butler County.

If you plan on traveling on I-79 South in Cranberry and Jackson Townships in the next few weeks, you better allow for additional time on the road, especially in high-volume periods.

PennDOT said there will be lane closures on I-79 South between mile marker 83 and mile marker 80 in the area between Exit 83 (SR 528) and the weigh station towards Cranberry starting on July 18 through July 26. Closures will be between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.

According to the advisory, PennDOT County Maintenance crews will be performing patching operations in both passing and driving lanes.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down, minimize distractions, and drive responsibly in work zones.

What a surprise. It's summer, its Penndot. Why not finish their other construction sites before starting new ones? Take Rt 19 near Wexford, for example. This chaos has been going on for months and months. They could have built a subway to downtown Pittsburgh in all the time they have been screwing around with this disaster.
