Patch Poll: What Businesses Would You Like to See in Cranberry?

Business is booming in Cranberry, and residents can’t stop talking about it.

Township manager Jerry Andree has said that w, one of the most popular topics is what stores and businesses are next for Cranberry.

The community is coming off a record year for development in 2011, issuing building permits for projects with an estimated value of more than $100 million. The only recent year to top 2011 for construction was 2008, which is when Cranberry issued building permits for the now-opened Westinghouse headquarters on Route 228.

At a Monday, Ron Henshaw, Cranberry’s director of community development, presented a slideshow of some of the buildings constructed in the community in 2011.

Included were the Bellevue Commons, which is home to the new; ESB Bank; ; the , additions to the shopping complex; and the Chatham Commons apartment complex.

We want to know what you think. What retail stores, restaurants or other developments would you like to see in Cranberry? In the past, we’ve heard residents have hungered for a Trader Joe’s and desired a Victoria’s Secrets. Also on people’s wish lists were more non-chain restaurants.

Of course, there also are those who don’t want any more developments in the township, particularly if it would add more traffic to the roads.
