Meadows Original Frozen Custard to Open Monday at Former Cranberry Creamery
The frozen custard franchise will give away free small cones as part of its grand opening.
After months of construction, the new Meadows Original Frozen Custard on Route 19 is readying to open its door Monday, March 11 at the former Cranberry Creamery.
While the business, part of a family-owned franchise, will be open all week, owner Joe Bier said the Meadows would hold its grand opening Saturday March 16 and Sunday, March 17.
On both days, Meadows will offer free small cones to all customers as a way to let them experience the products for the first time, Bier said. There also will be frozen custard cake and gift card giveaways.
Bier, who co-owns the Cranberry location with his wife, Jodi, has been renovating the former Cranberry Creamery since November. Besides changes to the interior, the couple has painted over the building’s infamous black cow spots.
In recent weeks, a new awning and signs were added to the building.
Founded in 1950 in Duncansville, Pa. by the Meadows family, The Meadows Original Frozen Custard in Cranberry will offer several flavors of frozen custard, frozen yogurt, Italian ice, gelati, sundaes, shakes, cakes, smoothies and more.

Yes, I am thrilled that the frozen custard will open soon. Foe people who don't know
a lot about frozen custard it's the best of the best as far as eating a cool treat.
For years I would travel miles to Hank's Frozen in New Brighton just to get this
wonderful frozen treat..... Now I will only have to drive less that a mile... Can't wait.
