A new traffic signal located at the intersection of Little Creek Road and Seneca School Road went into flash mode last Tuesday. It began the regular red, yellow and green cycle on Dec. 15.

PennDOT said drivers should be alert to the new signal while in the area.

While there will be no restrictions or work over the winter, Golden Triangle Construction will return in the spring to finish the project, PennDOT spokeswoman Deborah Casadei said.

Linda Andreassi, director of communications at Seneca Valley, also asked motorists to use caution during school hours, particularly before and after classes begin.

“During this transition, we ask for everyone’s patience during the morning arrival and afternoon dismissal times as drivers adjust to the new traffic and light patterns associated with the improvement,” she said.

She added that the district was pleased to have easier access to the campus.

“The completion of the I-79 ramps project will create a smoother transport for many of our students as well as staff, and we’re looking forward to having them open,” she said.
