After months of construction, GetGo from Giant Eagle opened its newest location Thursday morning along Route 228 in Cranberry.

Located in the Cranberry Crossroads shopping plaza, near the new Dick's Sporting Goods, the 5,500 square foot convenience store and gas station features a variety of foods, including subs, Angus burgers, breakfast sandwiches, sushi prepared on-site, salads, wraps—and a place to eat them.

The GetGo has a sit down café able to seat 25.

Open 24 hours, seven days a week, the location has 16 fuel pumps, four of which are diesel. All are eligible for redeeming fuelperks! and earning foodperks!, according to press release from Giant Eagle.

Other on-site conveniences include a WetGo car wash, two surcharge-free ATMs, free air for tires and free WiFi. Cranberry GetGo customers also may utilize lottery services, a Red Box kiosk and retailer gift cards.

“Our new Cranberry location brings customers the latest features of our GetGo format, including delicious old-fashioned subs and breakfast sandwiches, and convenience offerings such as a WetGo car wash and free air for tires, all at the convenient confluence of Route 228, I-79 and I-76,” said GetGo Senior Vice President Kevin Srigley. “The store is the first of several upcoming new GetGo locations, including one on McKnight Road in Pittsburgh’s North Hills in 2013.”

The grand opening celebration began with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Special events continue throughout the day, including an in-store appearance by Pittsburgh Penguins hockey star Pascal Dupuis from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman also will make an appearance at the station from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

Yay - BUT Why should I care about a couple sports heroes appearing anyway?
You have nice stores, nice people working there, however why pay already very well paid athletes more to show up?
