Where/When: The Seneca Valley Intermediate High School from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday.
Why Go: Because you need a break from the winter doldrums. When’s the last time you went swimming? Can’t remember? That’s what we thought. Family swim is every Friday through March 11. Use it until the real warm weather gets here.
Pricing: $4 per person.
Where/When: The Cranberry Township Municipal Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
Why Go: Consider this your playtime. Drop off 3- to 6-year-olds at the municipal center, where they'll watch a movie or make a craft. In the meantime, you can do … whatever you want!
Price: $15 per child. $20 for non-residents
3. MUD PIE – PAINT YOUR OWN POTTERY
Where/When: The Mud Pie studio on Route 19. The store is open from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Mud Pie is closed Sundays.
Why Go: To make a Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetie. Mud Pie provides stamps, stencils, brushes and sponges for you to create your own pottery.
Price: The cost of the pottery piece.
4. MAKE-IT-NOW: FUSED VALENTINES + FLOWER + HEART PENDANT
Where/When: The Pittsburgh Glass Center on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday.
Why Go: For those ages 10 and above, here's a chance for you to make a glass flower or craft your own personalized love letter in fused glass. Participants also may craft a heart pendant. Work individually or together as a couple.
Cost: $25 per flower, valentine or pendant.
Where/When: Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Why Go: Iconic band Bon Jovi brings its 2011 tour to Pittsburgh to rock the Consol Energy for two evenings.
Pricing: Tickets start at $12.
