It was a parade of dresses, corsages and tuxedos Saturday as Seneca Valley students attended the annual Grand March at the senior high school prior to the night’s main event—prom.
“We are so excited,” said senior Sara Norris, who is attending prom for the first time.
Standing out among the gorgeously-arrayed guys and girls was Ally Sirkoch and her date, Christopher Cypher. Following a longtime dream of Ally’s, both wore tie-dyed formalwear for prom.
“I’ve always said I wanted to wear tie-dye to my senior prom,” Ally said.
Utilizing eyeliner, Olivia Griffith added a unique animal print around her eyes to match her hot pink and leopard-print dress.
“And I did my nails to match,” she said of her spotted manicure.
This year’s theme was “Dancing through the Decades,” featuring the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. The grand march kicked off at 5 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
After taking turns gliding across the stage, students then boarded a bus bound for the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle to dance the night away,
