Don’t Forget: Friday Kicks Off SV Football and Veteran Recognition Night!
The event begins at 7 p.m at NexTier Stadium. Get all the details here.
Friday marks a very important day.
It’s the first home football game of the season for Seneca Valley (Go Raiders!) as well as the district’s annual Veteran Recognition Night.
The event begins at 7 p.m at NexTier Stadium on the secondary campus in Jackson Township.
Veterans and active military personnel from the community are invited and will be given free tickets to the game with special seating accommodations. They also will be recognized on the track prior to kick-off.
The veterans also take time to interact with the Seneca Valley community.
Football players, cheerleaders, coaches and other residents typically stop by the district’s tent area (just inside the lower ticket gate) to shake hands and personally thank the local men and women for their service.
Prior to kickoff, a group of about 50 veterans and military members will gather just outside the tent and march down the track to appear before the home stands.
Fans are also in for a treat during halftime.
The Seneca Valley Marching band will perform its new show for 2012-2013 the school year featuring the music of Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire.
