Cranberry Featured on ‘Then & Now’

Historical Society member Roy Wagner gives WTAE a look at the township’s farming roots.

The Cranberry of today is a bustling community of residential homes, businesses, hotels and more—but it wasn’t always that way.

Once upon a time, Cranberry was a quiet community featuring nearly 100 farms. Today, there are only four working farms left in the township.

Cranberry Township Historical Society member Roy Wagner spoke of all this and more Friday to WTAE’s Mike Clark. The township was featured on the station’s ‘Now & Then’ segment.

Other highlights of the video are the Sample Schoolhouse, the Venango Trail and, of course, present day developments, including Westinghouse.
