Cranberry Episode of 'Showhouse Showdown' Might Soon be Televised
The episode taped in Cranberry should have aired in October, but some season changes have pushed the air date to possibly March.
Area residents who attended the Cranberry taping of HGTV's Showhouse Showdown can see if they appear on TV in March.
About five episodes of Showhouse Showdown have aired on TV. Cranberry's episode was the eighth to be filmed and was expected to air in October. Due to competition during the Monday night television lineup late last year, HGTV postponed airing the series.
HGTV and Stone & Co. Entertainment partnered with Pittsburgh’s Heartland Homes in August to film an episode at the Mystic Ridge development in Cranberry. The show also filmed in September in the Edgewater at Oakmont neighborhood.
When news of the series' postponement came out, it was believed that the Pittsburgh-area episodes would air in December or January on HGTV.
Adam Packard, marketing manager for Heartland Homes, said the series is set to relaunch in March and the Oakmont and Cranberry episodes most likely will air early on in the season.
Packard said the show's producers soon are expected to provide Heartland Homes with more information.
Showhouse Showdown pits two experts against each other in competition to design the best model home.
About 750 people attended the show's filming on Aug. 27. Former season 4 Bachelor Bob Guiney—or Bachelor Bob—is the host of the new series.
