Cranberry Area Lions Honor Local Middle School Students
The organization recognizes three students for their achievements and accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.
On Jan. 24 the Cranberry Township Area Lions Club held its first of two annual Service, Effort, Initiative ceremonies.
Conducted twice a year, the special ceremony recognizes three Seneca Valley Middle School students for their outstanding achievements and accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.
Honorees Josie Glover, Jacob Huber and Tyler Turley were recognized with the “Student of the Month” award for October, November and December. Family members accompanied the students to the event, which was held during the Lion’s Club’s general meeting at the North Park Lounge in Cranberry. Seneca Valley Middle School guidance counselors Tammie Limmer and Jennifer North also were on hand to read a list of outstanding achievements accomplished by the students.
King Lion Larry Walker presented the students with a certificate of recognition, an official Lions Club pen and a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble Booksellers. Membership Chairman Clyde Cameron took photos of the students and their families after the recognition ceremony.
With the exceptions of December, July and August, the Cranberry Township Area Lions Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held at the North Park Lounge on Route 19 in Cranberry and do include dinner. Everyone is welcome to attend the gatherings.
