Cranberry Area Churches Holding Ash Wednesday Services
Feb. 13 marks the beginning of the Lenten season. Here is a list of services planned at area parishes.
Lent is the season of reflection and fasting leading to Easter. Cranberry Patch brings you a list of area churches offering services on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13, the beginning of the Lenten season.
- St. Ferdinand Catholic Church at 2535 Rochester Road in Cranberry will distribute ashes at the noon service and at 8:30 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Mass.
- St. Kilian Catholic Church at 7076 Franklin Road in Cranberry will distribute ashes during Mass at 6:30 a.m., 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. There also will be services at 12:15 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony is offering an Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m. The church will hold a light supper at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays throughout the Lenten season with an informal worship service following at 7:15 p.m. in the social hall.
- St. Gregory Catholic Church at 2 West Beaver Street in Zelienople will distribute ashes during the Mass service at noon and at 7 p.m.
- Dutilh United Methodist Church at 1270 Dutilh Road in Cranberry will have a traditional Ash Wednesday worship service at 7 p.m. This service will feature a communion celebration and the imposition of ashes.
- Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church at 8070 Rowan Road in Cranberry will have Ash Wednesday services at 12:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Cranberry Community United Presbyterian at 2662 Rochester Rod in will have a 7:30 p.m. service for Ash Wednesday.
- Grace Church of Harmony will have a Lenten service and lunch at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday through March 20. An express table is available for those who need to return to work by 1 p.m.
- St. John’s United Church of Christ located at 501 East Main Street in Evans City will have an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m.
- Harmony Zelienople United Methodist Church at 123 North Pittsburgh Street in Zelienople will have an Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m.
- St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 202 Van Buren Street in Evans City will hold worship at noon and at 7 p.m.
