Casting Call: Wrestlers Needed for New Movie

The Oscar-nominated director of “Moneyball” will be at Canon-McMillan High School casting a movie about Olympic gold-medalist wrestlers Dave and Mark Schultz—and real wrestlers are needed!

Are you a wrestler? Trainer? Coach? If so, the Pittsburgh Film Office has an opportunity for you this Saturday.

Bennett Miller, Oscar-nominated director of “Moneyball,” is in town casting a movie about Olympic gold-medalist wrestlers Dave and Mark Schultz.

To ensure an authentic depiction of the sport and community, producers want to cast as many real wrestlers, coaches, referees, trainers, scorekeepers and committee members as possible.

This casting session will not just be for extras—there will be an opportunity to be upgraded to speaking roles.

Wrestling choreography and consulting will be provided by John Giura (two-time World Cup Champion and three-time NCAA All-American), and Jesse Jantzen (Collegiate National Champion and four-time state champion).

To be considered, please email WrestlingExtras@gmail.com for details.

Casting opportunities for general extras, and wrestling fans are also being sought at this time.

Please note: Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
