Buffalo Wild Wings Gun Ban: What Do You Think?
Commenters express outrage on the business’s Facebook page after some of the company-owned restaurants post signs prohibiting guns on the premises.
Buffalo Wild Wings is attracting controversy after some of the chain’s company-owned restaurants began posting signs banning guns on the property.
KDKA reports photos taken at restaurants around the nation are popping up on social media sites of signs that say guns are not allowed inside the buildings.
The move has sparked outrage on the company’s official Facebook page.
"It's your right to disarm your customers as is our right to go eat elsewhere from now on to prevent becoming a victim,” said one poster. “I changed banks for the same reason.”
In a statement to KDKA, Buffalo Wild Wings' corporate headquarters said that while the company “respects the right of individuals to carry firearms. One of our top priorities is the comfort, safety and enjoyment of our Guests and we have elected to exercise our right to prohibit the carrying of firearms in our company-owned restaurants.”
The company told the news station it regrets any inconveniences, but “This long-standing position is in the best interest of our Guests and our Team Members. This position may vary in independently owned franchised locations.”
KDKA checked a few of the local Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in Pittsburgh and found most of them currently do not have signs banning guns on their doors.
No such sign was at the Cranberry Buffalo Wild Wings location Friday evening.
We want to know what you think. Would a ban on guns inside the premises prevent you from eating at the restaurant chain? Do you approve of Buffalo Wild Wings' stance? Tell us in the comment section below.

If a would be robber walked into a Buffalo Wild Wings while I was there I would be more comfortable knowing there were other customers who are armed and could take down the would be robber. I do not feel safe with this restaurant being a gun free zone! I feel that you are asking to be robbed! I can't defend myself so come on in!

I love these cowboys who think the best solution to a robbery is to have a shootout, YEEEEEEHAWW! Idiots. Any trained officer will tell you the best thing is to allow the robbers to leave unchallenged, thus not endangering innocents with flying bullet exchanges. These are the same simpletons who cheered that video a few months back of the old man shooting at robbers in the bingo parlor. In fact, all he did was escalate the situation and put everyone's lives at further risk.

your missing the point there Nancy boy, personal fire arms are for self defense. I would not attempt to stop a robbery. But if they start shooting people you can get on your knees and beg for your life, I prefer the opportunity to live. You are so typically misinformed

Restaurants are a tough business to begin with and Buffalo Wild Wings performance has disappointed it's investors as of late. To be an expansion oriented chain, as they are, and post a sign on the door that turns away a given demographic of paying customers appears to be extremely reckless.

I agree with Mark 100%. No guns at dinner, please. I'll take my chances with the thief instead of someone who will "defend" me with questionable aim and a whole lotta adrenaline.

and if the "thief" turns out to be a shooter I suppose you are content to just die? I bet you would pray that some other law abiding citizen or off duty officer eating there is armed and willing to save you or your families lives. think about it. In that moment of desperation, gun at your head. just praying....

I choose not to go there because the food and bar service is terrible so the gun thing doesn't really factor in.

I have a question to those who are in favor of guns in case of a robbery. How many times in your life have you been in a restaurant in the middle of dinner.....and you are robbed. Chances are.....the answer is 0! Not a very good reason to take a gun into a restaurant with you!!

Buffalo Wild Wings just found a creative way to lower profits. Wow - it takes 1 minute less to drive to their competitions' resturants - so bye bye Feinstein Wings !
Red blooded, meat eating, Americans will keep their Constitution & Bill of Rights & your wimpy wings have the freedom to go out of business.

We have too many "gun free zones" as it is. Enjoy your wings in your new " this place is now safe thanks to a sign". I am so glad I live in Texas were people don't seem to go in for such nonsense. Visit Cuidad Juarez if you want a look at the future that Feinstein is trying to shove down our throats. Laws don't provide safety, people do.

Please......something like this has not happened to my family, my parent's, grandparents, great grandparents......Why are people out wandering on the streets if they are armed because of what might happen to them. This puts life at a whole new level of paranoia!

The sign should read Dear Criminals common in we have a gun free zone so if you want to shoot up the place or rob us or anything else you criminals do we will not defend outselves cause we have no guns on thie premises.

I know it's fun to pretend we all need to be armed-to-the-teeth crime fighters here in hyper violent Cranberry Township. The truth is, the last thing you want to do during a robbery is engage in a running gun battle, especially with people drinking. There is a reason banks do not have armed guards. "I will eat somewhere else!!!" Fine. Stop with the faux arguments about how this encourages criminals. Robbers hit targets of opportunity, which excludes BWW in Cranberry.

armed to the teeth? crime fighters? a personal concealed fire arm is just that. personal and concealed. It's not for crime fighting. And if it is of a size to easily conceal I would hardly think that qualifies as armed to the teeth. It is intended to be used in a last resort effort to save your life, when all else fails and you have no avenue of escape. It's idiots like you that spread exaggerated opinions and feed the misinformation mills of the mindless. I wish1 person had a ccp at Newton, things could be different.

i own guns. i am an american and not a criminal. i don't like being insulted by businesses that want my money. i put my money where my mouth is, and my mouth
will NOT be at BWW. I though businesses were there to make money, not policy.

It has gotten out of control government, individuals and corporations making decisions that have no idea on what they are talking about. Most of these decisions are made by people who know anything about guns and how law abiding citizens with guns . We have become a weak society of followers. This country use to be proud and strong this is no longer the case. For comparisons that make these type of decisions while it is your choice it is also an individuals choice to not spend money at these locations. People need to stand up for what they believe in .people say they never forget I will not forget and will never against support companies that make these choices nor will I spend my money there. I happen to live in a anti gun state and it is getting worse I will then do my shopping and purchasing in a neighboring state until I can find another state that will stand up for my rights. This country is in a sad state of affairs and people talk of taking care of the children so they may have a great future. I have one thing to say people wake up and look at the people who are running this country we are doomed. This govt is an absolute joke and keeps getting worse.

THE STORE CAN PUT WHATEVER SIGN THEY WANT UP. I WILL CONTINUE TO QUIETLY CARRY MY CONCEALED WEAPON WHEREVER I PLEASE AND DEFEND MYSELF AND MY FAMILY BECAUSE THAT IS THE LAW. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS GET A CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT FOR PROTECTION.

I think I would choose to eat elsewhere! This company banning the concealed carry can make each patron a victim, after all how many criminals do you know that obey the laws or respect company's request! The sign just tells criminals that they can get in and get out no one will have a gun!!! Personally I think they need to speak with law enforcement to get a real perspective of what they asking to happen to the employees and patrons!

I'm not worried about being robbed inside a BWW....it's the passage outside, as not all of them are in good, safe areas. If my BW's forbid me to CC....I would stop eating there. Afterall, are THEY going to make sure I am safe once I leave their establishment? Probably not.
