Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in the Works for Cranberry

An Anthony’s Coal-Fired Pizza could be in the works for the Cranberry Crossroads shopping complex on Route 228.
The restaurant, which features “well-done” pizzas, wings and other Italian dished cooked on an 800-degree coal burning oven, would be located in Cranberry Crossroads West, a new phase of the development that Cranberry Planning Commission officials are expected to review at their next meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25.
Online plans for the new addition show 12,106 square feet of retail space and a 5,500 square foot restaurant.
Cranberry manager Jerry Andree said the township has received a liquor license transfer application for the Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. The hearing for that transfer is expected to take place at the Cranberry Board of Supervisors meeting on March 27.
Anthony Bruno, owner of the original Anthony’s Runway 84 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., founded Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in 2002. The company now has restaurants in Florida, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey and New York.
In 2012, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza locations also opened in Monroeville and Robinson Township.
According to its website, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza uses a combination of “top-quality ingredients, a simple, consistent menu and authentic, coal-burning ovens” at its restaurants.
Some of the dishes included coal-oven-roasted chicken wings topped with caramelized onions, Eggplant Marino (named for the former Miami Dolphins quarterback) and a signature Italian-style salad.
All the restaurants are company owned.

Can't get too excited because in the end someone backs out, sign is too large, etc.

I'm with you, it's ALWAYS SOMETHING we could 've had an indoor Mall at one time but the council wanted to preserve farm land. Now we have a bunch of mini-strips with plenty of nuthin' in them. It was a noble endeavor but in the end you can't fight progress.

Another pizza place? Yay. Cranberry needs some better eating places! Enough of the same old same old. Just because this is coal fired it's still pizza.

I really hope that this goes through! Anthony's isn't just 'another pizza place'! Their pizzas are very unusual and really delicious! And in light of all the people pouring into Cranberry to dine and go out it seems we can never have enough new restaurants! And to Matt...you might want to give Cranberry Cinemas another try...since the reno it is a real treat without that long drive to Robinson!!!

Boring! Cranberry needs a movie theatre, how about a SEAFOOD RESTAURANT - Bonefish, Mitchell's, Monteray Bay, someone.. help! What happened to Red Lobster? Boo! When is L.A. Fitness coming? I'll take Burgatory though, and a P.F. CHANGS!

How about a Macy's stand alone store... Now you are talking top quality that will put Cranberry on the map and draw lots of people to shop and eat here in Cranberry.
Macy's could build a stand alone store all it takes is our Township planning people from city hall to start the ball rolling . The Waterfront complex in Homestead Pa. had one built.... Why not Cranberry ?????

I would love a stand alone Nordstoms......don't know if that has ever been done, but that would really make Cranberry a notable place to shop and visit!
