Could you be their next volunteer?

The American Red Cross in Butler County is actively recruiting volunteers to aid in all future services. According to Red Cross spokeswoman Dominique Buccina, the Butler community is in need of members who can offer their time and compassion for various volunteer opportunities.

The volunteers can expect to assist with numerous projects including disaster relief, health and safety training, military support and desk work, Buccina said.

In the Butler area, the local Red Cross aided 38 disasters and helped more than 100 victims last year, according to Buccina. In addition, the organization served 13 military families and trained more than 8,000 people in lifesaving skills. Volunteers in the Butler area performed the majority of this work. Nationally, volunteers comprise 96 percent of the Red Cross workforce.

The American Red Cross matches volunteers with specific opportunities to serve the Butler community based on interests, skills and knowledge. For more information, visit the local Red Cross' website at ButlerRedCross.org or call 724-283-2810.
